Privacy Policy

sobog.com is a QR code generator. There is no analytics product and no advertising cookies. We do keep a session and we do log enough to catch abuse.

What we actually keep

• A session cookie (SOBOGID) so the form’s CSRF check works and so a generated PNG can be downloaded once.
• The last text you generated may sit in that session until you clear it or the session expires.
• Server logs include IP, user agent, and a sample of the QR payload. That is for abuse, not marketing.
• Dark-mode preference is stored in your browser (localStorage), not on our server.

What we do not do (today)

• Google/X login is optional. Generate still works with no account.
• No scan tracking or “dynamic QR” product yet. If that ships, this page will say so and you will be able to delete that data.
• No ad network is loaded. AdSense was tried and dropped.

How we use it

We do not sell personal data. The QR image you download is yours. API callers (for example venue displays) send a key and a payload the same way; those payloads are logged too.

Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all users of sobog.com. By using our service, you agree to comply with these terms. Violations may result in account suspension or termination.

1. Comply with the Law

Do not use generated QR codes to promote or engage in illegal activities, including:

• Violating copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property laws
• Infringing on privacy or publicity rights
• Depicting individuals in a pornographic manner
• Exploiting or sexualizing children
• Operating in regulated industries without proper compliance
• Engaging in fraud, defamation, scams, or spam
• Conducting espionage, stalking, hacking, doxing, or phishing

2. Do Not Harm People or Property

Do not use QR codes to:

• Promote or cause harm to human life
• Take unauthorized actions on behalf of others
• Develop or distribute weapons, including bioweapons or chemical weapons
• Destroy or damage property

3. Respect Safeguards and Be Transparent

Do not attempt to circumvent any safeguards on the service. Be transparent about the use and source of QR codes, especially if they link to generated or modified content. Disclose any limitations where applicable.

We reserve the right to report suspected child exploitation material to appropriate authorities. This policy is subject to change.
